Sexual exploitation of disabled people
Objectives:
- Sensitivity to recognizing sexual exploitation would be increased
- Professionals would be able to recognize and take seriously their own concerns and limitations in this area
- They would be competent to address the subject of sexual exploitation in their workplace
- They would examine the question of power and dependence in helping relationships
- They would examine their own idea of the human image and its relationship to disability
- Connections between institutional frameworks and making sexual violence taboo would be shown
- Institutions would be examined for their inherent structural violence
Terms
Duration: three days, suitable for a retreat
Dates: by arrangement, early booking is recommended
Location requirements: Conference-centre/Hotel with accommodation or in the institution itself; total wheelchair accessibility; an assembly room, three group meeting rooms.
Group: maximum 14, of which at least two should be men, or exclusively women
Cost: 2000.- per day plus expenses (Photocopies, wheelchair transport service in Switzerland; overnight hotel accommodation and food for myself and my assistant).
Sex education for people with learning difficulties
Objectives:
- Professional assistants examine their own human image idea
- Professional assistants recognize that the subject sexuality is a challenge for themselves in that they are confronted with their own sexuality. They will be made aware of their own pleasure and limitations.
- The taboo about the sexuality of disabled people will be removed. Sexuality will be accepted as a basic need, and the right to a sexual life a matter of course, where possible.
- The connections between the institutional framework and making sexuality taboo will be shown.
- We will work out concrete methods to help in the sexual education of people with learning difficulties.

Analysis and discussion:
- Differing human images in the course of the history of philosophy
- The personal human image in confrontation with those from history
- The present human image in society
- Different human images in connections with disability
- The human image in the institution which I/we represent
- The effect of this human image on structures and regulations
- Work-relationships and the daily life for residents and staff in the institution.
